The Cat Formerly Known as Bob…
Topic: Bobcat, Jack|Oh, the trials that I have endured with Bob, Bobcat, Bob the Cat - or Bad Cat as he was known in our house at the beginning. Now that we have turned a corner in our relationship, I can elaborate on what has been quite a painful beginning (literally) with the little cretin.
Those who know me know that I love all creatures great and small, but in my home I’m top dog, head cat, pack leader - you get the idea. I consider myself the liasion between my furry friends and the human world, since I’m in the best position to make the decisions in the best interests of us all (plus the bank account is in my name - this is America, after all, where buying power is The Power). However, Bob the Cat, who spent his early months living outside and unsupervised, epitomized the saying “You ain’t the boss of me!” It has taken me all these many months to finally convince him that I am head cat. After enduring months of torture, skirmishes, and all the other back and forth (the biting, the scratching, the stalking, banishment to one room of the home, etc.), Bob and I have come to an understanding.
Bob understands that his name is now Jack, and I understand that, while he is a handful, he really is a loveable sack of fur!
